What the Heck is a Chakra?!
I get asked this question a LOT. People have heard of Reiki and the benefits it can have on your emotional and physical health, but most don't get how. When I say Reiki balances your Chakra's, I get this look 😕. So let's delve into what the heck a Chakra is to get your face back to normal 😀.
Chakra is a Sanskrit term and it means "wheel" or "disk". Basically, Chakras are spinning wheels of energy in our body. There are 7 main Chakras in the body, aligning from the spine to the crown of the head. The ideal is to have these wheels of energy balanced, to promote fluid energy flow through our body. Overactive, under-active or blocked Chakra's, can negatively impact your physical and psychological health. The below quick reference chart outlines the quality associated with each Chakra.

As you can see, each Chakra impacts certain qualities which can impact you positively or negatively. For example, if your root Sacral Chakra is blocked you may have issues with over-indulgence in food or sex, jealousy and envy. If the Sacral Chakra is balanced, you may experience desire, pleasure and working harmoniously and creatively with others. The goal is to have all Chakra's balanced to live your best life, both physically and mentally.
Now that you know what a Chakra is, and an idea of the importance of having balanced Chakra's, let's look at some common practices that you can use to balance your Chakras. You can use meditation, yoga, breath work, pranic healing (I see your face doing this again 😕...just google that one 😀 ), and MY favorite practice is using Reiki to get your Chakra's back into their ideal spin cycle, so to speak. I will get into more detail on what Reiki is in my next blog so watch out for it. It will be riveting! 😀
