I Don't Have To Be There?!
Yep! It's true. Distance Reiki is exactly how it sounds. You don't have to be present with the Reiki practitioner. The healing session can be done remotely and has the exact same benefits as an in-person Reiki session.
The practitioner schedules a time and date with the client for the distance Reiki session. Before the session, via phone or e-mail, the practitioner will ask for a picture, the clients name, location and any intention they have for the session. For example, the client may want to reduce stress, anxiety, pain etc. and that would be the intention for the session.
Some clients prefer to stay on the phone or online during the session and some do not and that is fine. Whatever is comfortable for the client is the right answer.
For a distance Reiki session, the practitioner instructs the client to find a comfortable position in a quiet room where they will not be interrupted. I like to tell my clients to keep their intention in mind during their healing session. The client may experience physical sensations such as warmth, tingling or a sense of relaxation or peacefulness, just as they would in an in-person session. The same Universal life force energy is used by the practitioner in distance and in-person Reiki sessions, so the results are the same for the client. Now that being said, the client still needs to provide permission and accept the Reiki energy (as you do in an in-person session) for the client to receive the energy provided. After the session, I follow up with a phone call or online (if they are not on the phone or online already) to see how they are feeling when the session is complete.
Distance Reiki is a great solution when an in-person Reiki session could be harmful to the practitioner or client (eg. being contagious) or should you be unable to travel or have a Reiki practitioner visit your home.
I know some are skeptical about distance Reiki at first (as they are in in-person sessions as well), but why not try it out?! You won't be a skeptic for long 😊
